recruitment
Community college component
AIR outreaches to Native American Community College students across California to aid in transferring to the desired college or university of their choice by providing the tools and necessary resources. AIR does this by
-
reviewing students' academic progress to ensure they are on track to meet their desired goals
-
develop action plans to transfer in timely manner
-
introducing and reviewing the assist.org website and ensuring they are aware of the prerequisites needed for particular university
-
aid in difficult process of selecting a college or university
-
applying to colleges and universities
-
applying for FAFSA, financial aid, and scholarships
-
outreach to student organizations and clubs on their campus
-
promote college fairs and conferences related to Native American student education

AIR also works closely with UCLA's director of Native American/Native Alaskan recruitment in the Undergraduate Admission office at UCLA, as well as with admissions representatives from various universities. We also partner with the Center for California Community College Partnerships (CCCP). The Native Pacific Islander program (NPI) is also promoted to students wanting to help aid their chances of admission to UCLA.

We work with students to support them not only in their academic careers, but also with emotional, physical, and spiritual guidance.
