Project Coordinator: Curtis Hall
My name is Curtis Hall. Currently I am a grad student at Cal Lutheran University pursuing a Masters Degree in college counseling. I completed my undergraduate studies at UCLA in 2017 with a degree in American Indian Studies. I transferred into UCLA from Moorpark Community College. I’ve been the Project Director for AIR since 2019. I first began working for AIR in 2015 serving as the Community College Coordinator. I enjoy scenic drives, traveling and trying new and unique restaurants.
Assistant Project Coordinator: Judy Mitchell
Kamathot’k muuvak! (Hello)! My name is Judy and I am a fourth year applied mathematics major with a specialization in computing. I am from the Fort Yuma Reservation in Winterhaven, California. Fun fact: I have a miniature schnauzer named Iyi and she’s adorable.
Community College Coordinator: Chelsea Healy
Chelsea is from the Blood Tribe, a part of the Blackfoot Confederacy located in Southern Alberta, Canada. In her senior year at UCLA, she is majoring in American Indian Studies and is the Community College Coordinator for American Indian Recruitment. Her hobbies include sports and writing, and she combines them both by being a contributing writer for the Daily Bruin as a sports writer.
Site Coordinator: Marisah Wehunt
Hesci, My name is Marisah Wehunt. I’m a member of the Mvskoke Creek nation and Pit River nation. I am an undergraduate at UCLA while studying American Indian Studies and Philosophy. I’m originally from Redding California but currently residing in Los Angeles. I am a site-coordinator for AIR where we tutor Native youth and promote higher education. I enjoy watching movies and TV in my spare time, I especially enjoy watching Anime and get to know others that are into Anime too. I plan to work with Indigenous communities continuously in the future as a career of mine.
Site Coordinator: Leila Bathke
Ya'at'eeh! Shi'ei Leila Bathke yinishye. I am a third year undergraduate student at UCLA majoring in American Indian Studies. I am Navajo of the Tsenjikini clan originating from the Fort Defiance area. This is my second year working as a Site Coordinator for AIR and I love my job! During the time I'm not spending on work or school, I love gardening, boxing, and all things food related!
Site Coordinator: Joseph Rodriguez
Hello everyone, my name is Joseph Rodriguez and I am a third-year Psychobiology major here at UCLA. I am originally from SoCal, San Diego County, but I’ve loved living in Los Angeles since I got here. My tribal affiliation is the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians, which is also located in SoCal. I am one of three AIR Site Coordinators and I’m excited to support and uplift neighboring Indigenous communities in higher education. Some fun facts about me include: I’m a huge Los Angeles Lakers fan, I have a twin brother, I have four dogs, I love to cook...and eat, and I’ve played soccer since I was 6.
Admin Assistant: Serena Silk
Hi! My name is Serena and I'm a fourth year Psychology and American Indian Studies double major. I'm from Lake Havasu City, Arizona and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Besides working for AIR the past two years, I am also a New Student Advisor and Lab Assistant on campus. In my free time I love finding new LA coffee shops, reading, and making the best Spotify playlists! I plan to apply to law school next year with the hope of working in Indigenous communities.
